REGISTERED NURSE(SDS/PACU)
The incumbent practices as an RN in SDS/PACU in the Surgery department of nursing service at the VAMC, Huntington, WV.
SDS/PACU specializes in the pre-operative preparation and discharge care of patients post-surgical, diagnostic, or other procedures requiring anesthesia and non-anesthesia requiring close observation for a period of time.
The patient population includes but is not limited to:
IV conscious sedation, general, spinal or regional block anesthesia receiving surgical and diagnostic procedures.
The RN is accountable for the primary care of the patients admitted to this unit during the shift.
This person demonstrates leadership in delivering and improving holistic care through collaborative strategies with others.
Work Schedule:
Varying shifts; On Call is required.
Certain assignments require ACLS certification.
