Educational/Tuition Benefits - Marshall University provides tuition benefits to regular employees (after probationary period) and their dependent children Retirement Plans - Marshall University offers retirement through Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association (TIAA)Full-time benefits eligible employees must participate in the mandated retirement plan (401(a)).
Life Insurance - Basic term life insurance ($10,000) at no cost and may purchase optional life insurance coverage with pre-tax earnings.

Position Information Position Title Accounting Technician- MU Foundation Position Banner Position NumberE-Class TN - MU Non-employee Position (NOT Benefits Eligible) Department Annual Fund Division - MU6011 Job Description The mission of the Foundation is to support and promote the activities and programs of Marshall UniversityThis is accomplished by providing advice and counsel regarding fundraising and philanthropy, investing and managing gifts and pledges for the University and providing a strong base of private-sector support for the University.
Duties:
Under general supervision, performs accounting support dutiesThe incumbent is responsible for performing moderately complex posting, coding of transactions, and examining records to assure adherence to relevant laws and regulationsPerforms related work as required.
Classifies/codes a variety of transactions in accordance with internal and regulatory policies and guidelines which may require considerable knowledge or researchReviews accounts, ledgers, and supporting documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with laws and regulationsPrepares bank deposits and/or checksMakes correcting and/or adjusting entries on ledgerExamines accounting records to assure adherence to accounting laws and regulations; verifies calculations and ensures accuracy and validity of transactionsPerforms moderately complex posting and balancing of transactionsMaintains accounting records; gathers data and prepares moderate to complex reconciliations and reports from records maintainedMay assist supervisor in preparing analytical materials by compiling data and preparing summaries and requestsMay train and review the work of clerical staffSupport of other accounting and organizational activities as deemed appropriateMarshall University Foundation, Incis an equal opportunity employer.
