Research Assistant - The department will assign you to a member of the faculty who is a principal investigator on an external grant or contract.
You will assist him or her on the project as directed.
Job Description Summary The Graduate Assistant will assist in supporting the project goals, objectives, and activities of the Transitional Age Youth (TAY) Project.
The overall goal of the TAY project is to develop recommendations for policy and practice changes to better support transition age youth to mitigate adverse behavioral health outcomes and health disparities.
The GA will report directly to the Project Director of the Transitional Age Youth project, which is housed within Marshall University's Center of Excellence for Recovery.
The Graduate Assistant will work closely with the TAY Behavioral Health Researcher, along with the Center of Excellence's Managing Director and other Marshall faculty on the research and training project.
Job duties:
o Assist the Project Director in reaching the grant goals, objectives and activities.
o Assist the PD and Project Researcher in the collection of data from key informants and other stakeholders through interviews, focus groups, and online surveys.
o Assist the Project Researcher with literature review.
o Assist the Project Researcher with IRB submission and developing questions for interviews and surveys.
o Collaborate with Project Director and the Training Coordinator on curriculum using best practices.
o Assist the Training Coordinator with hosting trainings and delivery of continuing education unit certifications for trainees.
o Support the Researcher developing reports that outline data collected, training activities and outcomes to partners as well as assisting in final report with recommendations.
o Support the TAY PD, Project Researcher and Training Coordinator with the coordination and development of research in best/emerging best practices related to transitional age youth.
o Assist in all other duties as assigned pertaining to the project.
Department Cntr ExcellenceForRecovery-TCP Only - MUHR03 Location MURC - Marshall University Research Corporation Semester Summer Semester Hours Per Week Part Time (10 hrs a week) Qualifications Required Qualifications Education Eligible applicants must be enrolled as full-time, degree-seeking graduate students in one of the following programs:
Clinical Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, Public Health, Health Care Public Relations, Criminal Justice, or a related field Experience Applicants must demonstrate a strong understanding of health disparities and how those relate to mental/behavioral health outcomes, as well as a genuine interest in working with diverse populations.
Qualified applicants will also be able to demonstrate:
o Strong written and verbal communication and outstanding interpersonal skills.
o Strong interest in health equity and social justice o Excellent decision-making and time management skills.
o Strong ability to work with and contribute to a team environment.
o Experience using Microsoft Office programs and website/social media management platforms.
o Experience conducting focus groups, key informant interviews, and survey development.
Must be able to perform all essential job duties as outlined in the job description.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
